Disney Art Spotting….

IMG_0268

Saw this great art panel at The Laguna Beach Sawdust Winter Art Festival created by artist Michael Phillips.

It was one of several pieces of art work that was part of a silent auction. Opening bid was only $100 and it had a ‘buy it now’ price of only $500.

Isn’t it GREAT?

Here is the official word on the ‘deals’ for 2011….

BELIEVE IN HOLIDAY MAGIC – The holiday season finds “Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle” at Disneyland covered in freshly fallen snow, now through Jan. 2, 2011. With the shimmering colors, the Castle serves as an exciting centerpiece for a daytime holiday celebration. As evening arrives, the Castle undergoes a transformation as special lighting effects and a musical score take guests on a journey that dramatizes a young child’s dream for snow.  (Paul Hiffmeyer/Disneyland)

Beginning today through February 19, 2011, value-seeking vacationers can receive a fourth night free when purchasing a 3-night, 4-day Disneyland Resort vacation package through the Walt Disney Travel Company. Enhancing the value and fun of their vacations, guests receive an ESPN Zone Game Card (one per package) valued at $20 when they buy the package.

The special offer is available for arrivals from January 4 – April 11, 2011. For more information or to book, guests can contact their local travel agent, visit www.disneyland.com or call 714-520-5050 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 714-520-5050 end_of_the_skype_highlighting.

EXCITING LINEUP OF SHOWS

Guests will be dazzled by “World of Color,” the nighttime water spectacular at Disney California Adventure park. This after-dark celebration of Disney storytelling performs nightly upon a massive “stage” of water – bigger than a football field – and it turns the park’s Paradise Bay into a magical kaleidoscope of color, light and music. Check www.disneyland.com for show schedules.

Nearby, “ElecTRONica” lights up the Hollywood Pictures Backlot of Disney California Adventure as the nighttime dance party transports guests into the digital world of the upcoming, new Walt Disney Pictures feature, “TRON: Legacy.” Festivities take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights through mid-to-late April 2011.

Other whimsy and wonder at Disney California Adventure includes the live, rock-concert-style show, “Disney Channel Rocks!” (opening Nov. 26) and the edgy, hip performance of the “Disney Dance Crew,” where Mickey Mouse appears as never before.

The 3-Night, 4-Day Disneyland Resort vacation package includes all of the magical extras that come with booking a vacation package through the Walt Disney Travel Company. These benefits include preferred seating to some of the popular shows and attractions, a Magic Morning admission into Disneyland one hour before the park opens to the general public, and a “Key to the Magic” card which allows guests to charge meals and merchandise to their resort hotel account. In addition, guests staying at any one of the Disneyland Resort hotels are within an easy walk to both theme parks and the Downtown Disney District, an exciting shopping, dining and entertainment zone.

SPECIAL OFFER ON RESORT HOTEL ROOMS

For guests who already have their Disney theme park tickets and are simply seeking hotel savings, the Disneyland Resort features special offers at all three of its on-site deluxe hotels. By purchasing now through Feb. 19, guests can take up to 35 percent off their room rate at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, 30 percent off at Disneyland Hotel, or 25 percent off at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel. The resort “hotel room only” offer requires a two-night minimum stay and is not valid with previously booked rooms. The offer is available for arrivals most nights, January 2 – April 13, 2011.

The three Disneyland Resort hotel properties include the luxurious, newly expanded 948-room Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, the beautiful Craftsman-inspired AAA Four Diamond resort hotel featuring its own gate into Disney California Adventure park. Nearby at the iconic 970-room Disneyland Hotel, “re-imagined” guest rooms weave a contemporary design with sophisticated Disney touches, like fiber-optic headboards reminiscent of the resort’s fireworks. The third resort property, Disney’s Paradise Pier hotel, combines “day-at-the-beach” fun with unique views.

PARK HOPPER TICKET DEAL: 3 DAYS FOR $169

Guests who have accommodations already secured will still enjoy the Disney magic at a great price with the purchase of a 3-Day Park Hopper Ticket for $169. A Disneyland Resort Park Hopper Ticket includes entrance into both Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park on the same day with a valid hand stamp. A Park Hopper Ticket is the key to flexible fun to experience classic attractions including Space Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland, and immersive experiences such as Toy Story Mania! and Soarin’ Over California at Disney California Adventure. The specially-priced 3-Day Park Hopper Tickets can be purchased now through April 14, 2011, and must be purchased before guests arrive at the theme parks. First use must be between Jan. 4, 2011 and April 14, 2011.

clip_image002

Wanted to quickly remind readers in the OC that Disney on Ice is coming to Honda Center next month! And I plan on taking my niece Hannah and some family. We all know how I love all things Disney and combine that with one of my favorite venues (the Honda Center) how can it go wrong? Here are specifics…This year, the theme of “celebration” takes center ice with Disney On Ice presents “Let’s Celebrate!” featuring more than 50 beloved Disney characters. “Let’s Celebrate” performs at the STAPLES Center (12/15-12/19), Honda Center (12/21-12/26) Citizens Business Bank Arena (12/29-1/2) and Long Beach Arena (1/5-1/9).

One of Three.

3disneylandmoms smallworld copy

Over the weekend The Three Disneyland Moms (above Me, Suz and Lisa) spent an entire day in the park making videos, and it was a blast. I am especially excited about the piece  taped by the Disneyland crew about all the various line options in the park. Should be coming to the site soon. So watch for that. In addition we did a neat piece in front off the amazing Small World all lit up for the Holidays together. This was the last shoot of the day, and it was decided we would change into some ‘holiday’ outfits. Which had all three of us changing ‘locker room’ style in our favorite ’secret’ bathroom in the park. It was a long day. Many outfit changes, running to next location and lots and lots of laughs. Honestly, there are no better people for me to do this with. We all know how to talk each other down when we are feeling over whelmed, how to not talk to each other when we need time to think and we always do whatever we can  to make sure we each look and perform our best. Of all the things blogging as brought me, the relationships with these women is by far the most amazing. I mean, it is crazy how well we collaborate on these sometimes complicated and difficult days. So thank you girls.

Love,

One of the Three.

The Holiday-est Place on Earth!

Oh man. The holidays ARE HERE. And there is no better place to get in the spirit than at Disneyland.

Sure there is the tree. All 60 feet of it. But you would expect that. What I really love are all the other millions of changes all over the park that you might not expect. Every store window, every nook and cranny...EVERYTHING seems to be 'Holiday-fied' and it makes it beautiful. Not only is it the happiest place on earth, but is it the HOLIDAYiest place too.

Some personal favorites:

* The 'cuppy cake' castle! Doesn't that snow on top look good enough to lick? It is lovely and befitting a princess.

*Special Holiday Treats: this year the big winner is the gingerbread beignets at New Orleans Cafe. (beignets are like cinnamony doughnuty bits of goodness)

*Attire: Sure a cute Mickey hat with a Holiday theme is cute, but this year I see they have plaid patchwork scarves and pajamas's too. I want all of them.

*Shopping: The best holiday gifts for your Disney fan friends are found in the park. Silhouettes of the kids, custom created artisan watch faces and embroidered products of all kinds available in the stores on Main Street. I personally buy stuff every year from the magic shop for my boys, er I mean SANTA buys.

*Santa! Oh he is awesome. In his own cozy barn right next to his herd of LIVE reindeer.

*It's a Small World. From the outside in...it is all changed for the holidays and it is splendid. And when you are inside and you think you smell pine trees and peppermint candy? YOU ARE. Smells are injected into the ride at the holidays!

Remember to check the Disney site before your visit for Santa's hours (and park hours) during the holiday season. See you at the park!

Daily Disney invited to the Inagural Voyage of Disney Dream Cruise Liner!

What would you do if you received this from your mailman? would you scream? I DID.

And that was before I opened it and found out it was an invitation to be on the Christening Celebration Voyage for Disney's new AMAZING cruise ship; Disney Dream. Complete with the most adorable telescoping thingy (when you look inside? It is an image of the ship!)

I am still waiting on my 'official' invite via email with more details. But I can not tell you how excited I am.....

Disney Dream  is complete opulence (ala Disney) with the worlds first on-board water slide (that is CLEAR and goes out over the side of the ship!)

Here is a killer video of the ship...CLICK HERE

I am still unclear if this invite is for ME or ME and my family. I was told by another invitee it was for 2 people. So I have held off telling the kids.....either way, I AM GOING. And I can not wait!!!!!!!!!!!

Naturally every single detail will be reported back to you!
I call dibs on this chair. IT'S MINE. ;)
