When one of the sound guys said “Hey you are witch!”, I decided to mess with him. I got real serious and said ‘WHAT did you call me?’…..that was fun.
Halloween is my all-time-favorite holiday at Disneyland. And not just because you can walk around wearing a witches hat in the park and no one bats and eye…but because it so full of things I really like. Recently Disney recorded me capturing some of those favorite things. The video is below (and here) , but here is a cheat sheet.
1. Dia de los Muertos: Have you seen the giant skeletons in the park? LOVE THEM
2. Making killer Disney Jack-o-Lanterns: A how-to, including where to find the free Disney stencils and more. (starts at 3:32 in the video)
3. Making Muffuletta: An amazing new food offering. And we show you how to make it at home. Step by step (begins around 7:59 in the video)
And if you are lucky enough to be able to visit Disneyland resort this year, be sure to look for the fun ‘penny smasher’ in a coffin. It is a strange concept to give money to a machine to destroy even more of your money (only a penny) but my kids still love these.
Also part of Halloween Time is the transformation of Space Mountain, into Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy. Don’t forget to stop by the Haunted Mansion to visit with Jack Skellington all the way until Christmas (It has a Nightmare before Christmas theme which is silly-spooky-holiday fun.) And look! A full family portrait! I adore seeing the characters in their Halloween outfits. So much fun…
